Cardiff Blues kick off their new campaign in style on Bank Holiday weekend by hosting new Aviva Premiership champions, Exeter Chiefs for a mouth-watering pre-season friendly on Friday, August 25 (KO 7.15pm) - with tickets now on sale!
Following a warm-up at London Scottish a week before (Saturday, August 19), Danny Wilson’s side will continue preparations for the 2017/18 season by facing the Chiefs at Cardiff Arms Park.
It will be the final pre-season encounter for Wilson’s men ahead of their renewed assault on the Guinness PRO12 and European Challenge Cup, and they could not ask for a sterner test.
Rob Baxter’s side were crowned English champions after defeating Wasps at Twickenham, with Gareth Steenson’s penalty proving decisive after the game was forced to go to extra time.
The Chiefs’ squad is packed with experienced internationals, including Michele Campagnaro, Tomas Francis, Matt Kvesic, Henry Slade, Lachlan Turner and current British and Irish Lion, Jack Nowell.
