Tickets For Troops Marks First Anniversary with Bumper Giveaway

Since it was launched last year over 70,000 troops have signed up and over 250,000 tickets have been generously donated by sporting organisations, musical venues, acts and theatres.

Tickets For Troops Chairman Lord Marland said: “We now know that Tickets For Troops is really making a difference to those who sacrifice so much on behalf of the rest of us and everyone wants to acknowledge that by rewarding these courageous young people in some little way.”

Patron Samantha Cameron said:  "Tickets For Troops has been a massive success in terms of recognising the work and courage of our troops but it has also rewarded those families whose support and love is crucial in the frontline. As Patron, I want to thank all the organisations who have donated tickets to the scheme over the past year."
The FA and Wembley Stadium, which was one of the first organisations to support Tickets For Troops and officially partnered the charity has pledged another 1000 tickets for the next England friendly match against France at Wembley on 17/11/2010 (www.thefa.com).

Premier League Football clubs and top rugby Clubs are backing the charity with over 1000 troops attending the Everton V Bolton game on 10th/11/2010, as well as thousands of other tickets being made available for Remembrance Sunday Fixtures.

In tennis, members of the Armed Forces and their families have been given the chance to watch the world’s top tennis players for free at the prestigious Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at the 02.

The tournament organisers have teamed up with Tickets For Troops, donating a generous 2000 tickets for the tournament which takes place from Sunday 21st November to Sunday 28th November at the O2 Arena members.    The organisers of the AEGON Masters Tennis in the Royal Albert Hall have also made tickets available for the troops.
Britain biggest pantos are also getting right behind Tickets for Troops this Christmas by supplying hundreds of free tickets the families of soldiers.  A total of 420 tickets at 21 different theatres across the country have been made available by Qdos Entertainment, the world's biggest pantomime producer.

Other events this Christmas include tickets to top West End Shows and other theatre performances nationwide, the MPH show featuring Top Gear LIVE at Earls Court and the NEC in Birmingham, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall and Lord of the Dance and Trent FM Arena Nottingham.
