Over 250 Cardiff Blues supporters enjoyed a great evening at the Arms Park last night meeting the four Cardiff Blues Lions
The Arms Park Clubhouse was packed to the rafters with supporters eager to hear the thought of the four Blues heroes that have been selected to tour Australia with the British and Irish Lions this summer.
The evening’s MC was Rick O’Shea to welcome Alex Cuthbert, Jamie Roberts, Leigh Halfpenny and Lions captain Sam Warburton to rapturous applause from the audience.
With everyone settled the evening started with an impromptu singing of Happy Birthday to Sally Coldwell who had traveled down from Horsham for the special night on her birthday. This was only topped by another rendition started by the ever-popular Leigh Halfpenny.
There was much leg pulling amongst the four Lions and some great questions from the young audience, with Halfpenny saying how he was motivated to become the best rugby player he could be by watching the 2001 British and Irish Lions tour to Australia.
Sam Warburton also gave details of how he is looking forward to playing with Sean O'Brien of Ireland and Jamie Roberts is excited by the prospect of lining up next to Brian O'Driscoll and Manu Tuilagi.
The evening ended with the opportunity for supporters to get autographs and photos with their Lions heroes and also donating generously to Cardiff Blues nominated charity, CRY.
