The Welsh rugby team rugby team recorded a famous 21 18 victory over the Wallabies last weekend and thousands of Australian rugby fans gathered in Cardiff to watch the match. But look out, Australia fever is about to hit South Wales again in a few weeks time!
The Cardiff Blues charity of the season, Cancer Research Wales, is hosting the Welsh premiere of the long-awaited new Baz Luhrmann film Australia at Cineworld in Cardiff on December 18th, and they have asked Cardiff Blues Australian's Ben White and Billy Millard to hit the red carpet as a special guests at the event.
The film, starring Bens fellow Australians, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, is a sweeping romantic action adventure story, set in Australia on the brink of World War II and expected to be a huge box office hit.
Guests at the Welsh premiere of Australia will see the film ahead of its general release date on December 26th and will also be treated to an after show party at Cineworld with live Aussie-themed entertainment including an traditional didgeridoo player.
All the money raised at the premiere will help Cancer Research Wales to continue to fund vital and pioneering research into cancer across Wales.
Ben, who is originally from Gosford in New South Wales, and qualifies to play for Wales through his parents said: Im delighted to be asked along to the premiere of Australia. Ive heard its a fantastic film the biggest thats ever been made in the country. Its great that our charity of the season, Cancer Research Wales has been chosen to host the Welsh premiere and watching Wales play Australia this weekend is sure to kick off the Oz fever!
