Boss Danny Wilson has revealed Sam Warburton and Gareth Anscombe could yet make playing returns in the European Rugby Challenge Cup later this month.
Warburton has been out of action since damaging his ankle in the Guinness PRO12 derby with Ospreys.
Anscombe is closing in on a return after picking up an ankle injury in the Rugby World Cup quarter-final with South Africa.
“Sam is making really good progress as is Gareth,” revealed Wilson.
“We don’t have a fixture now until the Harlequins game and have a two-week window where they can look to get back ready to play.
“There is a possibility that those guys could come into contention for those games in Europe.
“There are a few boxes to tick before they get there and I don’t want to speak too soon,” he added.
“But they are making good progress and it’s great that we are winning games without the calibre of two big names.”
