Head coach Matt Sherratt says his side must embrace the challenge of playing against high-flying Bath in the Investec Challenge Cup at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday.
The Blue and Blacks were defeated by French champions Toulouse in their opening game of the competition last week, while Bath beat Ulster and sit in second place in the English Premiership.
However, Cardiff have a strong recent track record playing at the Arms Park in European competitions.
“The reason you start playing rugby is to play to Toulouse away or to play Bath at home in the best club competition in the game,” said Sherratt.
“Rather than worry about it, you have to embrace it and look at it as a great opportunity.
“A great opportunity for us to showcase the Club and a great opportunity for our young boys to showcase their talents.
“When you have taken a group of young lads to Toulouse with a police escort to a hostile ground and playing against some of the best players in the world, those experiences are massive.
“Cardiff at home is a different test. We have turned over Sale, Leinster and Stormers here in recent times, so on our day with a bit of luck and if we're playing at our best, we'll compete.
Bath travel to Cardiff in good form, with Sherratt impressed by their star-studded back-line, spearheaded by Scottish fly-half, Finn Russell.
“They look very organised. Their defence is excellent, everyone does the same thing.
“What I've been probably most impressed with is, Finn Russell has come into the team, but he's playing for the team, he's just doing what Bath are asking him to do and obviously adding his own quality to that.
“They're a very organised, well coached team with some real threats in there as well. Ben Spencer kind of dictates when they play and Finn Russell kind of has a big impact on how they play.
“Then you've got someone like Cam Redpath, who's a second receiver, type 12, with an Ollie Lawrence who's amazing gravy.
“They've got a real, they found a real nice balance and credit to them for getting the best out of them, because at the moment they are.”
