Cardiff Blues Captain, Xavier Rush and front row forward Gary Powell were the special guests at Trerobart Primary School in Ynysybwl last week.
The junior school, which is just outside Pontypridd, had invited the players to their classroom to see the special exhibition produced by the young pupils. The classes were full of young Blues supporters who were eager to show the players the work they had produced over the term. The players were also treated to a special display of the Haka which was appreciated by former All Black, Rush. Speaking at the visit Xavier was obviously impressed the effort put in by the pupils.
Weve had a great reception from the pupils and its nice to see all the work they have put in over the term on display. They are obviously big blues fans which is very pleasing. The Haka was a special treat as we werent expecting it at all said Rush.
Philip Butler the class teacher at Trerobart Primary School who had organised the visit was pleased to have the players visit his class.
"The whole experience with Cardiff Blues, from the six week training course with development officer Ben Rose to the visit from the players has been an enriching and rewarding experience for the children," said Philip.
