Back Rower Sam Wharburton of Whitchurch High School has not only been the star of his school side scoring a hat-trick of tries in the Cardiff derby against St Davids college but he has also been performing well for Glamorgan Wanderers and Blues Under 20s.
Sam, who turned 18 on the 5th of October, was the man of the match in the Wanderers 25-18 win over Llanelli at Stradey Park. Given special dispensation by the WRU to play in the semi professional league, he played the full 80 minutes and it was his turnover late on that set up the winning try for Wanderers.
He has been awarded for these performances in this month's edition of Rugby World Magazine - on sale now.
