Olly Robinson will captain Cardiff Blues for Friday's final Anglo-Welsh Cup pool stage clash against London Irish (KO 7.45pm)
Wales' Capital Region head into the match looking to build momentum ahead of a return to Guinness PRO14 action, where they will welcome Toyota Cheetahs to Cardiff Arms Park next Saturday.
The openside flanker is one of nine changes made to the side that was defeated by Leicester Tigers last week, as a host of senior players to return to the matchday squad.
Seven of those changes are made in the pack, as Robinson is joined by internationals Josh Turnbull and Seb Davies in the back-row. Damian Welch is reintroduced at lock, partnering James Down, who is the only forward to retain his place in the side.
Rhys Gill, Ethan Lewis and Keiron Assiratti form a new-look front row.
Ryan Edwards, who joined Cardiff Blues on a short-term loan deal earlier this week, will make his debut on the wing, joining Rhun Williams and Corey Howells in the back three.
Garyn Smith is reintroduced at centre, combining with Aled Summerhill in midfield, while Lewis Jones and Steven Shingler link-up in an unchanged half back partnership.
Friday's clash will be another opportunity for youngsters such as Assiratti and Howells to gain valuable senior rugby experience, and head coach Richard Hodges insists that is one of Cardiff Blues' top priorities in the Anglo-Welsh Cup
"Here and now it's about trying to get a result on Friday night against London Irish and try to finish the competition on a high," said Hodges.
"We know what's coming. They're building to get back into the Aviva Premiership and into the relegation battle. They also had the Russian sides back-to-back in Europe and were able to give some of the boys their rest then.
"We're making sure the youngsters keep getting the opportunities to progress through training and the working week, and that's the environment we're getting across.
"If we're not going to get our wins on the scoreboard, like last week even though we were close, it's about how we get the wins elsewhere. We need to make sure we integrate the future Cardiff Blues players into the pathway.
"These boys are rubbing shoulders with Gethin Jenkins, Nick Williams, Rey Lee-Lo for example, and last year you had someone like Jarrod Evans playing in these games and he's now first choice at the moment.
"Someone will put their hands up this time around and we've spoken about that to the group this week."
Dan Fish, who is named on the bench, makes a long-awaited return to the match day 22 following an arm injury which has kept him out of action since November, while there is also a place amongst the replacements for Reiss Cullen, who has joined Cardiff Blues as scrum half cover on a short-term loan from Bristol.
