Josh Navidi has called on Cardiff Blues to take the positive momentum from the stunning Ulster Rugby victory forward and into the rest of the season.
Blues produced one of the performances of the season as they shocked RaboDirect PRO12 high fliers and Heineken Cup quarter-finalists Ulster at the Arms Park.
All-action flanker Navidi was pivotal for Blues as his superb display saw deservedly him named man-of-the-match.
But the Wales international was keen to focus on team momentum rather than personal heroics as he looked to the remaining four games of the campaign that starts with Edinburgh away on Friday, April 11.
“That performance has been a long time coming,” said Navidi. “Last week (against Ospreys) we didn’t come out of the blocks or play. We’d had a good week of training but didn’t deliver.
“We had a good week ahead of this game (with Ulster) and we knew we needed to deliver, show what we could do.
“It’s coming together nicely now with Chief (Dale McIntosh) and Johnsy (Paul John).
“It’s good to get that win and a big positive for the boys. Hopefully we can now take that momentum into the Edinburgh game and the rest of the season.
“It was a big loss against Zebre a few weeks ago and we now need to get on the right path and try and get up that table. I want to finish on a high this year.”
Navidi also praised a brilliant home atmosphere as the crowd of over 7,000 turned up the volume as Blues ended the season at the Arms Park on a huge high.
He added: “The crowd are always behind us and we want to win for them. They were great.
“We don’t want to turn up each week and be losing. Hopefully we can take this forward now for the rest of this season and beyond to achieve even better things.”
