Cardiff Blues' Harri Millard and Cameron Lewis both played a part in Wales Sevens' pre-season tournament win at Elche, Spain over the weekend.
Gareth Williams' side are preparing for the start of the HSBC Sevens World Series, which will kick off in Dubai in December.
Wales remained unbeaten throughout the invitational tournament, beating the likes of Russia, France and Ireland over the two days, picking up the main prize of the weekend.
Head coach, Williams, was delighted to welcome regional players, such as Millard and Lewis, into the squad and believes the Elche tournament was perfect preparation for his side ahead of December's trip to Dubai.
"The cooperation of the regions continues and it was great to be able to expose some new players to match day scenarios against some well-established teams this weekend," said Williams.
"The trip to Elche proved a fantastic start to our match scenarios. It was a bonus to come away with winning the final, but we achieved our main objective of focusing on some very basic key themes.
"The exercise has given us a fantastic foundation to go away and develop on our systems and policies."
Former Cardiff Blues players, Ben Roach and Owen Jenkins, also featured in the squad.
