A 90-year-old, from Cardiff, was given the surprise of his life when former captain of the Cardiff Blues, Wales and the British & Irish Lions, Sam Warburton, arrived at his home arranged by Cardiff Blues Principle Partner, Land Rover.
David Harris has been a Cardiff RFC and Cardiff Blues fan for 72 years and was rewarded for his passion and commitment to his club with a surprise pick-up and chauffeured drive by Sam Warburton from his home to watch Cardiff Blues play in their last home game fixture of the season, against the Ospreys. The video, sees David, who attended has been a season ticket holder since 1946, discuss David’s love for of the game and his club and Wales’ chances for Rugby World Cup success. On arrival at the Cardiff Arms Club House, David was presented with a signed Cardiff Blues shirt from current player, Ellis Jenkins and met head coach John Mulvihill, ahead of the game.
David Harris, from Cardiff commented:
“I was lost for words when Sam Warburton walked through my living room door! To have a living legend sitting on my settee and to drive me personally to watch my beloved Cardiff Blues play is something my family and I will remember forever. It was such a special day and I was absolutely honoured to be given the experience.”
