Ladies Day ticket makes the ideal Mothers Day gift

12th March 2012

A ticket for Cardiff Blues Ladies Day makes the ideal Mothers Day gift for all female rugby supporters

Mothers Day is fast approaching on Sunday 18 of March and the Blues take on the Scarlets the following weekend, on Saturday 24 March, 6.30pm kick off, at the Cardiff City Stadium. The Blues will be holding their annual Ladies Day activities at this much anticipated Welsh derby match and this year the event will be held in the impressive glass fronted lounge that overlooks the pitch.

If you want a special present for your mother then there’s nothing better than a ticket for the Ladies Day game. Guests will be treated to a Champagne reception ahead of the match and there will be a number of activities for guests to sample including a Beauty Station, retails stalls, free goody bags and a chance to meet the Cardiff Blues players, as well as musical entertainment.

Tickets for this event cost just £10 for season ticket holders and £30 for non season ticket holders and can be purchased by calling 029 20 643 778

The Blues welcomed down three generations of Blues supporters to help launch the offer: Grandmother Sue Burgess, daughter Sian Burgess-Hunt and granddaughter Megan.

Speaking at the Cardiff City Stadium, Sue Burgess said:

“I’ve been a lifelong Cardiff and Blues fan and I love the facilities at the new ground, they are definitely better for families.”

“You can come here 30 minutes before kick off and get a nice padded seat, lovely toilet facilities, get a cup of coffee at half time and sit in the warmth.”

“It’s amazing how much warmer it is here than in the Arms Park.”

“The Arms Park is a bit dated unfortunately but if you could bring it up to scratch then I’d like to watch matches there.”

“We took our children down to the Arms Park and generations on we are bringing our grandchildren to the City Stadium, which is a nice tradition.”

“We’ve made a lot of friends through the rugby over the years and our children have grown up with children of other supporters.”

“I think it’s a good idea to have the Ladies Day match. It’s a good initiative to try to draw in a new crowd and hopefully some of the female supporters will have a nice present for Mothers Day.”

“My daughters are good to me so I look forward to the day.”

Sian added:

“I was probably six or seven when I first saw a rugby match at the Arms Park.”

“We are carrying on the tradition with Megan now and she was only a week old when she first came down to a match.”

“We’ve been to loads of games together and my little boy Thomas who is 5 years old hardly ever misses a game.”

“I much prefer to take the family to the Cardiff City Stadium because it’s nice and warm and cosy here.”

“We will be bringing the children down to the Scarlets match and hopefully there will be a nice Mothers Day present from Thomas also.”
