Cardiff Rugby have further strengthened their pack ahead of the 2023-24 season with the signing of Josh Reynolds.
Reynolds joins the Blue and Blacks on loan from Dragons RFC, following in the footsteps of Max Clark from Rodney Parade.
The loose-head prop is a product of the Dragons Pathway and has played 43 times for the Gwent outfit. He has previously represented Wales at the U16, U18 and U20 level, and will now compete with Rhys Carré, Rhys Barratt and the returning Corey Domachowski in the Welsh capital.
Head coach Matt Sherratt was delighted to add to his front row resources ahead of Cardiff’s opening BKT United Rugby Championship game against Benetton Rugby at the Arms Park this Saturday, and Reynolds is available for selection.
He already boasts significant first team and URC experience which Sherratt believes will will be an invaluable boost to the Blue and Blacks.
He said: ““We are delighted to add Josh Reynolds to our ranks. It is now a position of real strength with our two internationals Corey Domachowski and Rhys Carre alongside an exciting prospect in Rhys Barratt.
“Josh is in a similar mould to Rhys and Corey as he will be able to give us impact with ball in hand and in defence.
“Together with the signings of Max Clark and Matthew Aubrey last week, we’ve been able to strengthen the squad within our budgets to allow us to compete to the best of our ability in the URC and European Cup this season.
“We are also grateful to the Dai Flanagan and the Dragons, who have prioritised Josh and Max’s continued development and opportunity to get game-time.”
