Cardiff Blues can today provide the following injury update:
Lloyd Williams suffered an ankle injury while training during the Wales tour of New Zealand.
The scrum-half has now undergone successful surgery to repair the damage and will begin a rehabilitation process.
Josh Turnbull requires further assessment to the shoulder injury he suffered against the Chiefs but it is not thought to be serious.
Gethin Jenkins also returned from the Wales tour due to a calf injury and will now begin a rehabilitation programme. It is not believed the injury will keep Jenkins out of action for any substantial length of time.
Meanwhile new signing Nick Williams and Alex Cuthbert are continuing to recover from minor surgery and are now taking a limited part in training in line with their rehabilitation.
It is hoped both players will be available to play some part in the region’s pre-season fixtures, against Newport Gwent Dragons and Bristol.
