Cardiff Blues back row ace Sam Warburton added an Honorary Fellowship to his list of accolades at the University of South Wales on Monday. Sam was presented with the award in recognition of his services to rugby.
He said: "It is a real privilege to receive this honorary award from the University of South Wales. I have a strong association with the University, having trained on its rugby pitches many times with the Blues. The University has a great reputation for sport, with fantastic facilities and highly skilled staff. I am delighted that my career in rugby is being recognised in this way."
Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Julie Lydon said: “Sam is a superb example of talent that can be unlocked and taken to the very top level with hard work and dedication. We are very pleased to be awarding him with this Honorary Doctorate.”
