With the Covid-19 outbreak presenting new challenges in all walks of life, proud Cardiff Blues sponsors High Motive have been doing their part to assist the local community.
Established in 1990, High Motive was formed as a specialist provider of two-way radio equipment for the commercial sector. The company is one of the country’s leading suppliers of radio communications products and has built a reputation in the commercial business markets with high quality products and excellent service. High Motive also supply positive air-fed respirators to rail sites, including the RPB Respirator.
However, with the workload on the NHS continually increasing, High Motive have supplied their local surgery, Parc Canol, with special Personal Protective Equipment in a bid to flatten the coronavirus curve.
Design engineer Stuart Rix says High Motive are proud to support the community in a time of need.
Rix said:“Parc Canol is our local surgery in Church Village and it looks after a lot of the local community. We provided them with respiratory equipment and sanitising units to set up a coronavirus clinic in our local clinic.
“They came into contact with us to see whether we could assist with any Personal Protection Equipment and we went down there to demonstrate our positive air-fed head masks.
"They were very happy with those because it gives them a barrier when they deal with patients who they suspect have contracted Covid-19, without reducing the personality and contact between them. It means that they don’t have to communicate through a window.
“We’ve provided a number of those masks for their GPs to wear and they need to be cleaned after usage and in-between different patients.
“With the costs of everything going on at the moment, disposing of them would be too expensive so we’ve also provided them with mobile sanitising units to sterilise the equipment and 15 minutes later they’re back out and able to see a new patient.
“It’s all about helping the local community. We’re not in a position where we can provide for the entire NHS, but what we can do is help our local practice. We’re a local based company, and it’s important for us to give back where we can.
“It’s the least we could do to play a part in our community. If it helps a single person, then that’s great.
“We’ve had nothing but really positive feedback from the surgery and we’re in regular contact with them and doing weekly visits to ensure the kit is maintained, charged and serviced in the safest possible environment.
“We’re very proud to be able to support NHS staff, who are going far beyond what is required of them. If we can help in any small way, then we’re really proud to be able to do that.”
