Cardiff Blues full back Leigh Halfpenny has tonight capped a stunning 2013 by being named runner-up at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Runner-up Halfpenny, 24 – who was pipped to the crown by Wimbledon champion Andy Murray - followed up being named player of the tournament as Wales won the Six Nations with the man-of-the-series award as the Lions won in Australia.
"I can't believe it to be honest," said Halfpenny, at the ceremony held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
"This is a really prestigious award. Just to be nominated is brilliant and I feel really privileged.
"Andy Murray was a very deserving winner. It was an amazing achievement by him."
