Whilst the children who took part in the Capital Rugby Half Term coaching courses were looking on from the stands when the Blues took on the Scarlets last Sunday, the Children of Rhondda schools were giving a rugby demonstration to the faithful Arms Park crowd during the half time break.
More than 100 children got to put their skills on display on the famous Arm spark turf in what will be an occasion that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
Clive Jones, the Schools Rugby Development Manager for the Rhondda, co-ordinated the event which was used to promote the schools programme which is run through a valleys community organization called Valleys Kids.
The sponsorship that enables the programme to take place is provided through the Desna Robbins Jones Trust and the annual sponsorship is a staggering £120,000.
The programme employs Clive, his brother Chris Jones and Former Llanelli player Neil Boobyer to deliver the development programme to the schools of the Rhondda and on Sunday the children did them proud as the fans at the Arms Park were given proof, along with the Capital Rugby displays that they have already witnessed this season, the future of the Blues region is in safe hands.
