Centre Mason Grady proved to be the difference on his return to the side as his try helped Cardiff win a tight derby day affair against Dragons RFC.
The Wales international powered home from deep inside his own half to score the only try of the game.
Post match, Grady was happy with the victory and to be back playing in Blue and Black.
“It’s always good to play in a derby and it's great that we got the win,” said Grady. “That's what we were looking for really. It was a bit of a messy game, but getting the W is all we wanted.
“I can't really remember the try. I just remember calling to Teddy and he shifted it and I was lucky enough to get in the post and get a try.
“It’s a pretty good environment at the moment and we enjoy being there so we're quite happy to come in and help the boys.
“I think we were pretty unlucky last week. We showed glimpses of some good rugby, but it just comes down to one thing.
“We probably need to be a bit more composed in the last five minutes or so. I think we showed that today. We learnt from last week and put that into action today.
21-year-old Grady returned to the Cardiff squad ahead of match against Dragons after representing Wales at the Rugby World Cup.
Although he was disappointed not to get more game time with Wales, Grady learnt from the experience and hopes to take that knowledge back with him to Cardiff.
“I don't think I've really proved myself on the international stage yet so I'm looking forward to hopefully doing that and express myself next Saturday.
“To be honest, I was just trying to learn from the boys as much as possible and just that experience of being in the World Cup and being around those knockout games is pretty important
“I didn't play much but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Yeah don't get me wrong I was a little bit frustrated but when you look at the players who are playing in front of me they're pretty good aren't they?”
