Wales Under 18 face South Africa Schools today (Friday) at the Under 18 International Series with the players and coaches determined to show what they can do - and five players from Cardiff Blues will start the game in Cape Town.
Teri Morgan-Gee, Calum Haggett, Callum Bradbury, Shane Lewis-Hughes and Morgan Sieniawski all start the game while Gerwyn Coleman, Kieron Assirrati, Aled Ward and Callum Hall are on the bench.
Head coach Geraint Lewis said: “We all know South Africa will provide a huge challenge and only our best will do in order to come away with a win.
“But that’s what we are aiming for, we’ve prepared well and we will give it our best shot. We’ve come out here to win, it’s a great development tool for the players, they won’t have a better opportunity to improve and prove what they are made of.
“We will respect South Africa, but we don’t want to be overawed, and we must impose our own game on the match.”
Wales Under 18 claimed an impressive scalp over England earlier this year and came close against France.
“We know we have the talent in this side to do well and we have picked a strong team. This tour is all about giving players exposure to another type of rugby and preparing them for Under 20 rugby next season. Calum (Haggett) is an expereinced captain and will lead from the front.”
