Cardiff Blues full back Dan Fish took time out from a busy schedule to talk about pre-season the his aims for next term
Speaking at the Arms Park, Fish said,
“It’s been a good couple of weeks training, the boys have been working hard and hopefully we will see some improvements in fitness levels.”
“We’ve been doing a lot of gym work, running and some functional sessions which have been tough.”
“We’ve started on some skills sessions also so it’s coming together well.”
“It’s certainly the hardest training I’ve ever done, but with fitness the more you put in the more you get out.”
“All the boys have been working hard and you can see that after the sessions.”
“Across the squad everyone put muscle mass on and dropped body fat, so it shows that it’s working.”
Fish made his competitive debut for the Blues in 20-3 win over Aironi in Italy in October 2010 and has gone on to make 17 appearances for the Blues. Speaking of the forthcoming season Fish added,
“Hopefully I’ll been given a chance again this year and if I’m given it I have to grab it with both hands.”
“We’re a competitive squad and if you’re not playing well you won’t be playing at all.”
“The squad has changed with some of the older boys moving on but we do have experienced boys left who have played a lot of games for the Blues and a lot of games for Wales, so it’s important to use their experience.”
“They are passing on advice to the youngsters so I think it will be a good year.”
“The move back to the Arms Park is great as it’s a much better atmosphere there.”
“I used to go down to watch the Blues there when I was younger and the crowd was a lot more vocal. Hopefully the supporters will be right behind us acting as the 16th man.”
