Bridgend exerted the early pressure and the Vale found their line under siege only a fine touch finding kick to the half way line from James Whittingham prevented Bridgend opening the score.
Bridgend however were not to be denied and with wave after wave of attacks the Vale defence finally cracked and Joshua Evans finished off some fine handling to crash over the line for Bridgends opening score.
The score stimulated Vale into action and enterprising runs by Lewis Morgan , Harri and Josh Thomas drove Bridgend back into their half . Vale forwards surged onwards with Little and Moroney exchanging passes the ball smuggled onto Owain Lord who's fine floated pass was gathered by Harri Thomas to dive over in the corner . Bridgend started the second half as they had done the first with excellent attacking moves Jacob Thomas and Rhys Brownsell looking dangerous every-time they received the ball , A penalty awarded to Bridgend well within the Vale half saw Johnathon Lodwig drive at the Vale defence and a short pass to the excellent Joshua Thomas and the Bridgend number 8 was over for his second try , a missed conversion left Bridgend with only a slender lead.
Again the score seemed to spirit the Vale into action and their forwards now took charge of this game forging runs from Mason Goode , Dan Holder James Little and Sam Jarvis drove Bridgend back beyond their 20 metre line . Collier taking a short tapped penalty surged forward the ball onto Kieran Moroney and the Vale prop forced his way across the Bridgend line only for the try to be disallowed , from the resulting 5 yrd scrum captain James Little surged forward to score in the corner , Collier shaved the post with the conversion attempt Vale 12 Bridgend 10 .
Bridgend now threw everything at the Vale but fine tackling by Lord , Connelly and Whittingham kept them at bay.
