Crawshay's Welsh RFC have made arrangements with the Management of the Cardiff Thistle Hotel (formerly the Park Hotel) in Park Place Cardiff to create a Crawshay Room in the Marquis Suite on the First Floor of the Hotel.
The Hotel has agreed to hang various Crawshay photographs, plaques and rugby memorabilia in the Marquis Suite which will illustrate the long and continuing history of the invitation amateur club for whom numerous International players have played. It will be a Home for the Club and will be used on Wales Home International Match Days by past and present Crawshay Players and by Vice Presidents of the Club.
To open the Room a Reunion of past and present players will take place before and after the Wales v New Zealand Match on Saturday 25th November (kick-off 5.00 p.m). A cash bar will be open from 12.30 p.m for pre and post match drinks offering beer, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. A large screen TV will be available pre, during and post match with video available for post match viewing.
In view of the limit on numbers entitled to use the room players are encouraged to contact Brad Williams or his secretary Kathy Griffiths at Crownford Limited by email at [email protected] or by telephone 01685 815200 preferably at least 3 days before the match.
A Finger Buffet will be available at £10.00 per person before the match. Those wishing to avail themselves of this facility must purchase a ticket from Brad Williams not later than 21st November and send a cheque for the appropriate amount made payable to Crawshays Welsh RFC.
Crawshays are very keen also to create and build a database of past and present players. Players who have played for Crawshays should email, post or telephone their email or postal address and telephone number to Brad Williams so that they may be informed of future matches and activities and of the opportunity to become a Vice President member of the Club (current annual subscription £40).
