Cardiff Schools cup finals and 7's competitions have taken place last week as the culmination of rugby during the winter months in the schools of Cardiff.
In the year 7 Cup Final competition Ysgol Glantaf defeated Corpus Christi in an exciting, tense final by 7 points to 5. The Year 8's was won by Whitchurch who edged Glantaf by 12-0 and Whitchurch Year 9's completed the double as they were too powerful for a brave Llanishen outfit who did fantastically to reach the final. In the 7's competitions it was the turn of Ysgol Glantaf to achieve a double success as they beat Corpus Christi in the year 7 final in a repeat of their 15-a-side victory, whilst the year 8's beat Bishop of Llandaff 17-7.
These competitions are organised so efficiently by Carl French, General Secretary for Cardiff Schools, who must be applauded for all his time and efforts throughout the season in ensuring that Cardiff has such a solid structure of playing opportunities for rugby playing secondary schools
