Cardiff Rugby supporters pledged to save 177,196kg of C02e at the recent Welsh derby victory over Dragons in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
It was the first time the Blue & Black have partnered with Pledgeball – part of the RSK Group – in another example of the club’s commitment to sustainability and positive change.
COO at Cardiff Rugby, Jamie Muir, said: “At Cardiff Rugby, sustainability is at the heart of every decision we make. We’re dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact while inspiring our community to take meaningful action for the planet.
“Our ongoing partnership with RSK, a global leader in sustainable solutions, highlights this dedication, alongside the introduction of a Safety and Sustainability Coordinator role within our organization and our exciting new collaboration with Pledgeball.
“Our Pledgeball initiative during the fixture against Dragons RFC showcased how rugby can be a powerful catalyst for change.
“Saving 177,196kg of CO2e during that match was a fantastic achievement, but it’s just the beginning. We’re enthusiastic about building on this momentum.
“We have more fixtures lined up with Pledgeball, and as we continue to learn, grow, and engage our supporters, we look forward to making an even greater impact.”
As we embark on this exciting journey with Pledgeball, we are eager to combine resources, knowledge, and shared values to drive lasting impact. The partnership signifies a pledge to uplift the game, support the community, and champion sustainability in sport.
