Five try thriller against Scarlets confirms the Blues place in the Heineken Cup for the 2010/11 season
The five try romp against Scarlets in the sunshine on Saturday night put smiles on the faces of Blues fans but caused fresh worries for the Scarlets.
The win ensured the Blues would have a place in Europe's top tier competition, the Heineken Cup next season. However the Scarlets will now have to wait and see if the Blues can lift the Amlin Challenge Cup, which would mean all four Welsh sides have a spot in the Heineken Cup.
Also, if the Blues reach the final of the Amlin Cup they will have accrued enough points to be a seeded team in next season's Heineken competition, meaning they will not face any of the other top seed European teams like Munster, Toulouse or Leinster in the pool stages of next year's cup.
Back to this season and the Blues are not just challenging for a European cup win, the play off places for the Magners League are still up for grabs and the Blues are one of seven teams competing for one of the four spots, with the final game of the regular season against Munster scheduled for weekend of 7/8/9 May..
Season tickets for 2010/11, which include all regular season Magners League games, Heineken Cup home pool matches, LV= Anglo Welsh home pool matches and any home pre-season friendlies are now available.
