The Blues Coach Development Department held a strength and conditioning open coaching session at the Blues Pavilion on Monday night
Coaches from rugby teams from around the region were invited down to watch the presentation delivered by Trystan Bevan, the Head of Strength and Conditioning at Cardiff Blues.
Strength and conditioning plays a huge part in rugby with the pre-season playing an increasingly important role in getting players ready for a gruelling season of matches.
The presentation focused on the trends that are feeding down from the elite end of the game.
Speaking of the event Jon Evans, WRU Coach Development Officer for the Blues region said,
“This was a fantastic insight into the world of strength and conditioning. Thanks must go out to Trystan who presented a hugely topical evening and the feedback from the guys who attended was very positive”
Trystan Bevan, the Head of Strength and Conditioning at Cardiff Blues added,
“It was great to deliver to such an enthusiastic bunch of coaches who had some challenging questions. I hope I was able make what we do at the top end of the game appropriate to those out in the community.”
