As he prepares for the big European game against Toulon on Sunday, Cardiff Blues' lock Bradley Davies took time out of his busy training schedule this week to show his support for Armed Forces Day Cardiff 2010.
Armed Forces Day will take place on June 26th and Cardiff has the privilege to be the UK's national host. The aim of the day is for the nation to show its support to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, including service families, cadets, veterans and recruits. A full programme of events is planned for the day including a military parade featuring over 1,500 servicemen and women, dynamic displays, a fly past and a free evening concert in Cardiff Bay featuring The Soldiers and Only Men Aloud.
Bradley's brother Miles is currently serving in the Queen's Dragoon Guards, and has served in Iraq. His other brother Ashley was in the Military Police and served in Afghanistan, and he now works at the Blues' home of Cardiff City Stadium.
Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Cllr Keith Hyde, said: "It's fantastic to see Bradely take time off from training, and not just any training, he has a huge game this weekend, so it's extra special that he found the time to show his support. I wish the Blues luck on Sunday and hopefully on Armed Forces Day, Cardiff will boast premiership Footballan Amlin Cup winning rugby team."
Blues fans can also salute their support for Armed Forces Day Cardiff by simply taking a photograph of themselves saluting, and uploading it onto the dedicated Armed Forces Day website www.armedforcesdaycardiff.co.uk
