The first of the 2006/7 seasons Cardiff Blues Community Coaching Clinics will take place on Monday August 7th at Taffs Well RFC starting at 6:45pm.
Coaches Trystan Bevan, Dan Baugh, David Young and Rob Howley will run sessions based on fitness with the theme being Whats and Whys of pre season which gives an overview of what is going on at the top level and how it can be transferred down in to community rugby teams. This will be followed by a question and answer session in the clubhouse and a buffet will also be provided. The night is open to anyone interested in developing their coaching skills and invitations to attend have been sent out to all 56 clubs within the region.
The Blues have been training hard for weeks with hill running fitness sessions at Castell Coch and Rest Bay, Porthcawl giving the players a chance to get away from the more traditional sessions at Hensol Castle Training centre. Last seasons Coaching Clinics held at Glamorgan Wanderers, Pontypridd RFC and Beddau RFC included sessions on the key principles of attack and defence and set pieces. They proved to be very popular and useful for coaches of all levels and the events went from strength to strength,
