Taffs Well hosted the second Blues coaching clinic of the season this week with more than 50 coaches in attendance
Coaches from all over the Blues region enjoyed a master class on the collision and contact area delivered by Pontypridd head coach Dale McIntosh.
The evening began with McIntosh showing a video of contact areas and explaining the theme of the session. Players from Taffs Well were then put through their paces in front of a packed balcony of coaches.
After the session, the coaches returned inside for a question and answer session on the coaching aspects presented by McIntosh.
Wayne Evans from Merthyr was just one of the coaches in attendance.
"What a fantastic session. Dale really broke down the contact area into bite size chunks which were easy to understand," he said.
"I now have a greater understanding of this area and I am able to go away and coach my boys at Merthyr those techniques."
Jon Evans, WRU coach development officer for the Blues region, summed up the evening.
"This was the second successful Blues coaching clinic of the season and I was hugely impressed by the interaction of the coaches who attended," he said.
"I'd like to thank Dale for the effort and enthusiasm put into the session and Taffs Well for hosting the event."
The next coaching clinic in the Blues region will be advertised soon. Keep an eye on the website for more details.
