Cardiff City Football Club is encouraging all its supporters to #StayStrongForOws - the fundraising and awareness campaign for injured Cardiff Blues and Wales player, Owen Williams - at this Saturday's home game with Norwich City.
Owen is currently at the Welsh Spinal Injuries and Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Rookwood Hospital in Cardiff as he continues his long-term rehabilitation and recovery after suffering a serious injury in June.
It remains very early in his recovery, but support for the#StayStrongForOws campaign worldwide has been a huge inspiration for Owen, his family and friends.
This week, the Blues and Bluebirds squads have united after training for fund-raising PR activities, building towards Saturday’s day of action for Owen in line with the arrival of Norwich City.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game, Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær said: "We have a great relationship with the Cardiff Blues. They are an inspiration to us at this difficult time, and what happened to Owen has brought us even closer together.
"We see each other every day, we talk about things every day – there’s a great camaraderie. Saturday’s day of action is the least we could do in support of Owen and his recovery.”
The#StayStrongForOws campaign will continue throughout this season and beyond – encouraging all sports fans to united and show their support. Cardiff Blues has joined forces with the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust to ensure they can raise valuable funds to help and support Owen in the long-term as he continues his recovery from such a serious injury.
