Last week we celebrated Gareth Davies in the our first “A Hero Among Us” Community award at Cardiff Rugby vs Zebre Parma
The initiative is designed to showcase and recognise our local rugby heroes, who go above and beyond to participate, facilitate, organise and promote the game and values we all love.
Gareth, who was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and was registered Blind nearly nine years ago has been a member of the Cardiff Rugby Visually Impaired team since its inception.
He is an enormous advocate for getting people with a Visual Impairments into sport through his “see sport differently” campaign work and is a champion of all things Cardiff Rugby and particularly the Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation.
As an employee of the RNIB, Gareth is an invaluable member of the Cardiff Rugby family, frequently offering his time and expertise both on and off the pitch.
All of our heroes will be treated to complimentary hospitality at the Arms Park, will be presented to the crowd at half-time and automatically entered to the shortlist for our End of Season Community Awards.
If you think you know someone deserving of this award - whether a long-serving kit man, who runs on with the magic sponge, to a fundraising extraordinaire or someone who battles adversity every day, please feel free to nominate them by clicking here.
