Côr y Gleision

Côr y Gleision was formed in 2006 as part of the S4C series “Codi Canu”, which aimed to encourage rugby supporters to bring traditional Welsh singing back onto the rugby terraces.

Many members had never sung in a choir before, but found the experience so positive that, although “Codi Canu” ended in 2008, the choir continued to grow and develop. It attracted new members and greatly increased its repertoire.

The choir now has more than 120 members. Choir membership is open to all, regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnicity. There is no requirement of having previously sung in a choir; all we ask is that you can hold a note!

The choir enjoys a varied calendar of events from singing at Cardiff Blues regional matches and international rugby matches to performing and competing at regional and national choral festivals. The choir also tours every two years, and have enjoyed memorable performances in Spain, Scotland and Belgium to date. In 2018 the choir travelled to Canada to sing at the Ontario Welsh festival. The choir also enjoys the social aspect of singing, especially at rugby matches.
